it's christmas time

about 5 years ago i got an abominable snowman, you know from rudolph the red nosed raindeer, the one with the toothache. I kept putting him into one of my mothers really nice nativity scenes. she kept taking him out and i kept putting him back. finally she asked me what in the world i kept doing that for and i told her that he wanted to see the baby Jesus too. she finally agreed with me that the gift God gave us of Jesus, was a gift to all and has included him in the nativity scene ever since! I think he's finally found his home!

so this christmas day my family played mario kart... alot. it got pretty intense, and my dad threw down the guantlet and challenged me to a match where the winner got to shave the losers head... i wasn't afraid (plus i'd been winning all day, so i agreed.) thank goodness i won! mom wasn't so happy that anyone shaved their head on christmas, but honestly i think it was all a part of dad's plan cause he's been wanting to shave his head for years...

(p.s. i got an I heart edward shirt for christmas!)

where clothes go to die and other stuff in nashville

When i was in Nashville for Thanksgiving my mom and sister took me to the Dillard's outlet center in Hickory Hollow Mall...
I was so overwhelmed that I wasn't sure what to even do. seriously, it's where clothes go to die. everything is so cheap though, and if you dig and have patience you can find good stuff. I got some kenneth cole reaction shoes for 8 dollars. I will be wearing them next time i have to dress up fancy-like.

As a new yorker, i don't get to see gaudy Christmas light displays, although people do decorate their balconies in lights. This house is in my sisters neighborhood and it's glorious. What you can't see is the leg lamp prominently displayed in the window. You know, the kind made famous by the christmas story movie...

merry christmas!
